Shading Solar System
Shading by individual solar glazing using current-generating daylight and sun shading system.
Sun protection and electricity generation in one.
Shading laminates are semi-transparent solar laminates which can be used to generate energy within light and sun protection systems.
Sun protection and electricity generation in one
Shading laminates are semi-transparent solar laminates which can be used to generate energy within light and sun
protection systems.
The distance between the silicon cells in the solar laminate can be individually selected and have a direct influence on the translucent effect and therefore on the degree of protection from glare and heat afforded. The solar laminates can either be produced as a reasonably priced glass-foil composite (with transparent foil backing) or as a glass-glass composite.
Applications
There is almost no limit to the way in which solar laminates can be used – from overhead outdoor glazing to a semi-transparent glass façade on a building. They can be further processed to produce photovoltaic insulating glass which can be used innovately as façade cladding and in glass roofs.
Construction
Solar laminates can be integrated into all usual building profiles and individually designed glass substructures. There are two different methods of mounting 3S shading laminates:
Panels mounted at bearing points
Solar laminates are individually designed for the desired bearing points system (e.g. with borings in glass for clamping plate fasteners or round edge clips)
Panels mounted on linear bearings. Dimension and strength of the solar laminates can be adapted by the planner to conform to the linear-mounted glazing specifications.
Advantages of the frameless system
- Meets the highest of aesthetic demands
- No shading of solar cells by construction elements leading to reduction in yield
- Avoids dirt deposits on solar laminates leading to reduction in yield
- Wide range of applications
